The bad persons will shock you. Yes, there is a murder, but it plays a small part in a much larger and evil plan. Good book.

not very original
Best book it had drama and funny parts in some chapters I cried the way the family sticks together and loyal to each other
Kept my interest. The ending leads to another book in the series.
I have not read the first two books in this series and suspect I would have liked it much more if I did. This book was a finalist in the Illinois Author Project Soon to Be Famous contest which is why I read it. Despite a lot of back story, I feel like I needed more background to understand Kelly's motivations. A nice cozy mystery, set in the far west Chicago Suburbs and Florida! Includes a recipe for scones!
This was a wonderful and quick read. It didn't feel like a typical cozy but I really liked it. This is my first Annie Hansen book, but it won't be my last. I am going to find the first two books in the series and read them as soon as I can. I think I might pre-order the 4th when it's available.
I loved reading about the relationship Kelly had with her family and her boyfriend Jack. There are quite a lot of characters introduced at the beginning of the book, but they are well written and easy to distinguish. We had a few winter storms gang up on us, so the kids were home and I could only read in spurts, but it was easy to keep track of the goings on in Kelly's world. I'd recommend this book to anyone that likes a good mystery with some twists and turns.
